54th Biennial Conclave

Alpha Chi Sigma hosts many national, regional, and local events for Brothers, friends of the Fraternity, and the community. These may be social or professional events, Regional Conclaves, member bonding outings, or community outreach events.

This year the 54th Biennial Conclave was hosted by the Gamma Upsilon Chapter at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Each collegiate and professional chapter sends an elected delegate to Conclave to discuss and vote on the issues brought forward. Professional Representatives, District Counselors and members of the Supreme Council also debate and vote on these matters. While the main purpose of the Grand Chapter Conclave is to conduct the business of the Fraternity, it is much more than that. One of the most valuable aspects of Conclave is the many opportunities to meet other members from across the country. Through structured programs held at Conclave and informal encounters, attendees can solve their chapters’ problems, share ideas about chapter operations, and develop new friendships.

Our chapter had 2 brothers attend, including delegate Katie Greenwood—here’s what she had to say about her experience:

“Nationals was definitely an experience that I encourage everyone to try and go to at least once, whether as a collegiate brother, a professional brother or even as an alumni. It was truly incredible seeing so many generations of brothers from all over the country.
It put into perspective for me, how big of an organization and a family we really are. From the first day to the last we were all bonding and experiencing the things we loved together, science and our shared love of Alpha Chi Sigma.Learning about their chapters and their different traditions was incredible and heartwarming! The leaders of our organization are so down to earth and amazing too. We all felt so welcome and so at home because of our bond through chemistry and the fraternity.I can truly say it was an honor to attend and it would be a pleasure to go again and meet more brothers and people of different backgrounds”
